Hello, dear reader,

Picture
I'm happy to report that it is the first day of July, 2010, and I sent my proposal to the Harlequin American Romance editor three days ago. I'm amazed at how well goal setting works, and maybe equally amazed at how often I forget that simple fact. I really like the idea behind this story, and I hope the editor does too. But I'm not going to worry about it. The wait between mailing and editor contact has been, in my experience, as little as three weeks and as long as several months. My next tasks involve helping my two daughters organize and prepare for a combined birthday party, taking a day trip to visit a college with the same daughters, and finally embarking on a seashore vacation with the family. Although I've had a few story ideas, I'm not settling into brainstorm mode just yet. I hope to be seriously working another idea by the beginning of September. There, you've read it. Feel free to ask me about it come September second if I don't mention it first.

And of course, I'll let you know if I hear news about the existing proposal. I've got "update website" penned in on my calendar for every first Friday of the month, and will reinstate my seasonal contests this fall. The links in the bar toward the top of the page include information about my six previously published books, which should be available through the various online booksellers. If you can't find one that you want, use the contact form to let me know. Also use the contact form to request autographed books (we'll have to work out pricing depending on where you live) or signed bookplates, or to otherwise share your thoughts. I've updated my author biography, as well. Here's to forward movement.

Until next time, enjoy your days!
