Kaitlyn Rice's earlier childhood dreams involved motherhood rather than writing. She loved reading, however, and devoured every book and magazine in her non-reader family's home many, many times. When she was old enough to receive an allowance, she bought books. Her first real job was in a bookstore and at about that same time, her bookshelves at home were overtaken by Harlequin romances.

At University, Kaitlyn received her bachelor's degree in elementary education. (But she had to work that college reading in around the romance reading, she promises.) She grew up a little more, married one of the good guys, gave birth to two book-loving girls and soon afterward published her first novel with Harlequin's home and family line. One of her earliest author's biographies mentioned Play-doh and playgrounds, as she recalls. Life goes on and now Kaitlyn is helping her oldest daughter explore college choices while also completing a book proposal for (drum roll) Harlequin's home and family line. As much as things change, the big loves in Kaitlyn's life have remained constant. She is tickled pink about that.

Kaitlyn lives in northeast Kansas with her incredibly supportive husband, two nearly-grown daughters, seven various pets and a multitude of books.
